With all the rain we have had over the past few days you might be wondering if you can get hearing aids that are waterproof. While no hearing aid is truly waterproof, many are water resistant.

So what does water resistant mean when it comes to hearing aids? It doesn’t mean you can go swimming or shower with them on. What it does mean is that they are resistant to moisture from perspiration, humidity, and light rain showers. If your are someone who perspires heavily or are caught out in a light rain shower, your water resistant hearing aids will likely be okay. Just make sure not to completely submerge them in water.

Other ways to protect your hearing aids from excessive moisture include wiping them down with a dry cloth after use and placing them in a dri-aid kit, which will absorb moisture.
