May is Hearing Awareness month. According to Statistics Canada, hearing loss is the third most prevalent chronic disability among older adults, yet there are literally millions of Canadians that are not aware that their hearing acuity has dropped. This is because hearing loss typically develops very gradually, so it is easy to miss the early warning signs. As a result, it usually takes years before a person decides to have his or her hearing tested and seek treatment. As with many conditions, however, the sooner you discover that something is not right, the sooner you can take steps to improve the situation and your quality of life. This is why it is important to have your hearing checked on a regular basis, just like your eyes!

To help raise awareness about hearing loss, Accurate Hearing will be providing free hearing screenings at various locations in the HRM, as well as at our clinics.
